Privacy Policy — Fane Biotics

Effective date: 22 May 2026 · Last updated: 22 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Fane Biotics (the “App”) processes information when you install and use it. Fane Biotics is a business application that presents the company’s services, sectors of activity, training programmes and team, and lets professional users send information requests and schedule consultations through in-app contact forms.

We have written this policy to be specific. The App does not contain advertising and does not embed third-party analytics or tracking SDKs; we describe what the App actually does here in detail.

1. Data controller

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple Inc., Apple Distribution International Ltd. and Google Ireland Ltd. act as independent controllers for the data they process during download and store interactions, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

2. Scope

This policy covers the App itself. It does not cover the third-party services listed in Sections 6 and 7, each of which operates under its own privacy notice.

3. Summary at a glance

4. Categories of data the App processes

4.1 Information you submit through contact and booking forms

The App offers in-app forms to request information, book a consultation, or contact specific members of the Fane Biotics team. When you submit a form, the following data is processed:

The data you type is transmitted over HTTPS to Fane Biotics, either by email to info@fanebiotics.com or to a Fane Biotics backend hosted on servers operated by SiteGround Spain S.L. inside the European Union, depending on the form. From there, the request is handled by authorised Fane Biotics personnel.

No sensitive data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR is requested by these forms.

Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6): performance of pre-contractual measures requested by the user (Art. 6(1)(b)) and consent given through the voluntary submission of the form (Art. 6(1)(a)).

4.2 Local content (preferences)

Small preferences such as the chosen language, the last viewed tab, and any draft form fields are stored on your device using the App’s sandboxed storage (AsyncStorage/UserDefaults). None of this content is uploaded to a server controlled by the developer or Fane Biotics.

Legal basis: performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b)).

4.3 Local notifications

If you book a consultation through the App, you may receive local reminder notifications for that appointment. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on the device through Apple’s UserNotifications framework and Android’s notification system, via Expo Notifications. The App does not register a remote push token with any server controlled by Fane Biotics or the developer, and does not send remote push notifications.

You may disable notifications at any time from iOS Settings › Notifications › Fane Biotics, or on Android from Settings › Apps › Fane Biotics › Notifications.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) given via the system notification prompt and the contractual purpose of providing the booking reminder feature (Art. 6(1)(b)).

4.4 Network connections

To submit forms and to load any in-app content delivered remotely (for example team biographies or service descriptions updated by Fane Biotics), the App connects to the Fane Biotics backend and to standard content delivery endpoints. Each request technically carries the device’s IP address (visible to the receiving server by nature of the internet) and timestamps. No personal identifiers are added by the App.

4.5 Diagnostic logs

The App does not integrate third-party crash reporting SDKs (no Crashlytics, no Sentry). On Apple platforms, if you have enabled “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings, Apple may share aggregated crash and energy diagnostics with the developer through App Store Connect; this flow is controlled by Apple, not by the App.

5. App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and the IDFA

The App does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and does not embed any SDK that would require an App Tracking Transparency prompt. You will not see an ATT dialog from this App.

6. Service providers

Each provider may, in accordance with its own policy, log the IP address of incoming requests for security and abuse prevention. The developer does not receive these logs.

7. Stores: Apple App Store and Google Play

The App is distributed by Apple and Google. When you download, update, rate or purchase from the App, Apple or Google may process technical data (device model, OS version, country, account identifiers) under their own responsibility:

The developer receives only aggregated, non-personal statistics through App Store Connect and Google Play Console (number of downloads, crash counts, country breakdown).

8. What the App does NOT do

9. Where data is processed and international transfers

Data that you submit through forms is processed on Fane Biotics infrastructure located in the European Union (SiteGround data centres) and on Fane Biotics business email systems. Apple and Google process store-related data on their respective global infrastructures, including the United States, with the safeguards described in their privacy notices.

10. Data retention

11. Security

The App uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher) for all network requests. Form submissions to the Fane Biotics backend are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Local content benefits from iOS and Android data-at-rest protections when your device is locked. Fane Biotics applies technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk to protect the data stored on its backend.

12. Your rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection regarding your personal data:

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

13. Children

The App is a professional B2B application aimed at adults working in the biotechnology, agriculture, food & beverage and cosmetics sectors. It is not directed at children under the age of 14 (or under 16 where required by local law) and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has submitted personal data through the App, please contact info@fanebiotics.com and the data will be deleted without undue delay.

14. Automated decision-making

The App does not perform automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect new features, new third-party providers, or changes in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top tracks the latest revision. Material changes will be announced inside the App on first launch after the update.

16. Contact

For any question regarding this policy or the processing of your personal data, please contact:

We aim to respond within 30 days, in accordance with Article 12(3) GDPR.
